Description

?Networked devices are all around us, from the traditional wired LAN, to wireless, to fibre, to cloud computing and the Internet of Things. All these devices require secure and reliable networks in order to function. The management of Networks is a core function of many organisations. The student will acquire skills in the configuration and fault finding of network devices including servers, switches, routers and wireless access points and controllers. You will understand the nature of security threats and appropriate protection systems. You will also be introduced to the legal issues associated with data integrity on computer systems and the design and testing of engineering support systems. Project skills will be developed through projects completed in years 2 and 3.
