Description

The Bachelor of Education in Home Economics is a four-year, concurrent level eight degree, university accredited and recognised by the Teaching Council of Ireland. This professional qualification is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and beliefs necessary for teaching Home Economics to the highest level in the post-primary sector. The study of education is undertaken concurrently with study in the subject discipline Home Economics in each of the four years of the programme. School placement is a key feature of the programme and students undertake a school-based placement each year. The programme facilitates the holistic development of adaptive Home Economics professionals, who advocate for the sustainable health and wellbeing of individuals and families within education and within society.
